Unifor Atlantic Council

Thursday, May 31, 2018 - 09:00

The Unifor Atlantic Regional Council meets at least once a year, with every Unifor Atlantic Local eligible to send delegates to discuss and debate important issues in their regions such as provincial labour laws and policies, and regional economic and social concerns. The Atlantic Regional Council will also spearhead various campaigns and activities and will be held this year from May 30 to June 3 in Moncton, N.B. and Unifor Local 4504 is sending five delegates including a representative of a designated equity group.

Unifor Atlantic has seen many progressive changes for workers in the province of New Brunswick this year and the Union looks forward to pushing for many more, proving that Union activism leads to political change. The Atlantic Council will include a number of pre-Council activities including the first-ever Atlantic Unifor Young Workers’ conference, Local Presidents’ meeting, and a Fair Trade Forum.

It will be a busy weekend for the delegates attending and Unifor Local 4504 looks forward to participating and representing Local 4504 at the Council.
